All-on-4: All You Need To Know!

Losing your teeth can be an unfortunate event arising due to many factors. Sometimes, it is an accidental impact that makes you lose your teeth. In other cases, the situation occurs because of poor oral health, trauma, disease, biting hard items, sports injury, etc. Regardless of the underlying cause, this problem must be dealt with appropriately.

All-on-4 has become a revolutionary approach to solve your problem of multiple missing teeth. This treatment reconstructs your mouth to restore its full function. This procedure also improves the appearance of your smile, thus offering the best of both worlds. It makes use of only four dental implants placed strategically in your mouth.

What are the Benefits of All-on-4 Treatment?

  • This treatment leads to an immediate improvement in your quality of life by offering comfort in aesthetics, eating, and speech.
  • The treatment is faster than traditional dental implants and other alternatives.
  • All-on-4 implants provide a long-term solution to your problem of missing teeth. You may have to spend a marginally higher cost initially; however, it helps you save your hard-earned money in the long run.
  • The treatment doesn’t involve any bone grafting procedure. This factor makes this surgery less invasive when compared to others.
  • The four implants that we place support your full mouth dentures, offering stability to your teeth.

What Happens During the Procedure?

During your consultation, we will evaluate your case by conducting your dental examination. We may use scans and dental X-rays to assess the condition of your remaining teeth and gums. We will also discuss other aspects, such as your medical history, current medications, and any health problem. A treatment plan will be presented at the end of the consultation.

On the day of the appointment, we will offer you dental sedation so that you do not feel pain or discomfort during the procedure. We will extract your remaining teeth and make a small incision in your gums to assess your jawbone and shape socket for the placement of implants. The implants will be placed strategically into your jawbone, followed by attaching the abutment. We will suture your gums. Four implants will be placed in your upper arch, and another four will be placed in your lower arch. These implants will support your temporary dentures.

Once your implants heal, we will remove the temporary dentures and attach the permanent ones in place. The restoration is complete. You may resume your daily activities in a day or two.
